Children and families are important to us.  We believe each child is a precious treasure in the eyes of God and we aim to treat them as such!  We have a worker, dedicated to everything regarding children and families.

Judith Parr has worked with us here since May 2007, running groups and supporting parents.  She has an Early Years degree and has done various jobs with children over the last 15 years, including schools, special needs work and children’s church.  

“I am passionate about children and their well-being within the family, and also within the family of the church.  I love to meet with children and parents, help them to resolve issues, or just to have fun!  I really love this job and the variety it brings.”

Judith is available at the church Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays and many Sunday mornings.  If you would like help or support, or just fancy a cuppa and play, please do contact Judith

Activities during the week for children & families

Songs & Rhymes for Toddlers

We run three informal song and rhyme sessions each Monday morning, with all your favourites like Sleeping Bunnies, Row Row your Boat and Twinkle Twinkle. It is open to any children aged 0 to five with a parent or carer.   Each session lasts 20 mins – half an hour, with the coffee lounge on hand for a well-earned cuppa afterwards.

Session times are: 9.30am, 10.10am and 10.45am (it gets busy so come a bit early!)

Cost: £1 per family

Come along and join the singing!

Tiddlywinks

Tiddlywinks is a play and craft session for children under 5 and their parents, with a Bible story and songs, followed by play and coffee/juice.  It usually lasts about half an hour + playing time (however long you want!)

Past sessions have included the story of the Feeding of the 5000, where we had a picnic and made some sandwiches appear, or the Bear Hunt story, where we thanked God for different things to feel and stuck our feet into some very interesting textures!

We usually have a song and always finish with our little Tiddlywinks prayer.

Session times and days:  Wednesdays twice a month during term-time (contact Judith for the dates of this term’s sessions), 10am

Cost: Free!

Baby Massage

Our baby massage group is very popular and we are currently running a waiting list.  

Baby massage has proven effects on bonding, emotional and physical development, plus benefits for mum too!  We run two Friday afternoon sessions that last approximately an hour (with cuppa & chatting time!)

Session times: Thursdays at 1.30pm   Cost: £2 donation towards expenses

Scouts and Guides

We also have Beavers, Cubs & Scouts and Rainbows, Brownies and Guides attached to the church.  For more details of these groups, please contact the church office and they will direct you further.

Holiday Club

We run an annual Holiday Club in the summer, which is 4 days of fun and games with a Bible message.  This is popular and books up really quickly.  If you are interested, please contact Judith.
